Payall’s foundation and vision leverage Gary’s 20+ years’ experience bringing innovative banktech, regtech and fintech capabilities to market at companies including:
WildCard Systems. Co-founded by Gary in 1996, WildCard built the first-ever processing platform for financial institutions to issue network branded prepaid cards, including enabling applications to integrate KYB and KYC, specialized funding tools and fraud and risk management systems. Under Gary’s leadership, WildCard emerged as the global leader in providing services to top-tier financial institutions and nonbanks worldwide. The company was acquired by eFunds in July 2005 for USD 262 million.
eFunds. Gary served as eFunds’ executive vice president of global strategic business development and was part of the executive team that sold the company to FIS (NYSE: FIS) in 2007 for USD 1.8 billion. After the sale, Gary oversaw prepaid, ACH and EBT for FIS until he transitioned to a part-time advisory role through 2009.
Adaptive Payments. Since 2009, Gary has been an advisor and investor in fintech companies and related businesses, including co-founding Adaptive Payments, acquired by MasterCard in 2015. Adaptive Payment’s technology became core to the Mastercard Send product.
TECS. In 2016, Gary made a significant investment inTECS, a Vienna, Austria-based global payment processing leader with specialty capabilities in transportation, parking and other verticals. TECS developed the first-ever, complete vertical software stack from switch to device, including terminal key injection. Gary serves as the company’s chairman.
Emphasizing his commitment to the growth of the payments industry, Gary served as a director of the Center for Financial Services Innovation (now the Financial Health Network), until his 10-year term limit expired in 2015, and the Electronic Funds Transfer Association.
